For best results, take this chart to a printer who can print it out on large paper - See more at: http://obituarieshelp.org/free_printable_blank_family_tree.html#sthash.66mRRv0e.dpuf My Oma (grandmother) Hildegard was born in 1927, in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, to Karoline Pauline Schmidt, age 30, and Willi Hans Kümmerer, maybe around the age of 25 or 27. Her birthmother's family did not want to keep her (my grandmother) in the family. Due to being born out of wedlock, she was placed in a childrens home in Lowenstein, Lichtenstern. My grandmothers birth family on her mothers side were Lutheran and active members of the Killianz Kirche in Heilbronn, Germany. My grandmother over the years would get to know her mother, but doesn't know anything about her birth fathers family. Her birth certificate only states her mothers information and nothing about her father. Oma never learned much about her father. Oma told me that her mother was the youngest of six surviving children and had to stay home to keep house. Her uncles left home to become writers. The house was supposedly very large and contained three apartments that would occasionally be rented out. That is how Oma Hilde's parents met. Oma Hilde's dad was renting a room while he was building a library. Oma said he was a writer. She knew that he married and had a set of twin daughters. She also was told that he died around 1936 due to lung sickness. Oma also learned that his daughters and many of her other family members died in the Heilbronn, bombings December 4th, 1944. Oma was out of town that day for apprenticeship on a train and survived the attack. www.stuttgarter-zeitung.de/inhalt.luftangriff-auf-heilbronn-1944-als-die-kindheit-endete.cb8d718e-553d-4467-a6ee-6b612eab477e.html |
